EUROLEAGUE BASKETBALL Fan XP BASES
Objectives
The 2024 EuroLeague Fan XP (hereinafter the “Fan XP”) is a program addressed to bring together startups and innovators with an ambition of disrupting the sports industry and connect with top global sports organizations, professionals and entrepreneurship experts during a seven months period, since the launch of the program, of mentoring, interaction, concept validation and pitching.
With this objective, we are aiming to attract up to eighteen relevant startups or individuals with innovative solutions within the scope of Euroleague Ventures S.A. and its related companies (hereinafter “Euroleague Basketball” or “EB”).
Areas of interest
Projects presented must have technology/solutions at the center and cover at least one of the following areas:
· Venue Management
· GameDay Experience
· Digital solutions
· Content creation
· Data & Fan Engagement
· New Businesses
Others: a wild-card may be reserved for any projects that do not fall within any of the aforementioned categories listed, but that may still be identified as a potential solution to existing or future challenges.
Organizing entities
Euroleague Properties S.A. is the company responsible for the management and administrative organisation of the professional basketball competitions named Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and BKT EuroCup (the “Competitions”) and Euroleague Ventures S.A. is the company responsible for the promotion and development of the commercial activities linked to them.
The aforementioned companies (altogether referred to as the “Organization”) have the right to modify, amend, update the present Terms and Conditions and any matter related to the Fan XP
Requirements to participate:
· Startups and/or individuals or group of people (hereinafter the “Applicants”) can register to the Fan XP by presenting an innovative business models within the sports sector, nevertheless, startups that have solutions in other markets that could be applied to sports are also welcome.Alignment with selected areas of interest
· Startups or projects in early stages.
· Subject to the classification of the Application to the different stages of the Fan XP, full availability for attending the Euroleague Basketball HQ Event on October 7th,2024and the SPORTBIZ EUROPE: Barcelona Edition 2024, to be held on October 10th, 2024.
How to apply
Visit fanxp.euroleague.net (the “Website”) and complete the application form before April 19th, 2024.
Applicants understand and agree that by submitting an application for the Fan XP they are not entitled to participate in the Final Stage and/or win awards or to any other form of consideration unless they are selected and formally notified by the selection committee of their classification to the different stages of the Fan XP. Applicants must comply with all these Terms and Conditions and must qualify in accordance with such Terms and Conditions at each stage of the Fan XP.
Any application submitted after the date specified above will not be accepted, unless otherwise confirmed by and as per discretion of the Organization.
Selection process
Stage 1 – Selection of the Top 18 startups/projects
Once the submission deadline is closed, the Fan XP selection committee, who will be integrated by EB staff and independent experts, will analyze all applications and may:
· Request to the selected Applicants for more documentation related to the business model or others related to the requirements of the program.
· In some cases, the Applicants may be asked for a personal interview or skype call.

The Fan XP selection committee will shortlist a number of selected projects, who will be contacted by the contact data provided in the application form no later than April 26th, 2024.
The selection process is defined by the next criteria:
· Interest and possible value contribution from/to Euroleague Basketball;
· Growth potential;
· Startup or project stage
On the same day, the selected 18 startups or projects will be publicly announced.
Stage 2 – Mentoring and development of the Projects
The Fan XP consists of a seven (7) months program since the official launch in which the participants will be involved in the activities described below, irrespectively if they are classified for the Final Stage of the Fan XP:
Conferences from experts in the fields of:
· Experts in sport sectors (basketball and other sports or business areas);
· Relevant positions within the Euroleague Basketball;
· Mentoring sessions with top industry professionals; and
· Experts in the dynamics and accelerations of startups.
During said stage Networking sessions between startups, entrepreneurs, Euroleague Basketball experts and professionals will be carried out in addition to mentoring sessions, interactive and feedback sessions, team work and/or startups development sessions.
During this stage, the maximum of 18 selected startups or projects will undergo an online competition on June 28, 2024, (the format of this online competition will be communicated in writing to the 18 finalists once they have been chosen). On this day, the selection committee will choose the 8 finalists of the Fan XP, who will have a place in the Final Stage.
Stage 3 – Final Stage
Each of the 8 selected startups in stage 2, individuals or group of people will be invited to participate in the Final Stage of the Fan XP which will be held between Euroleague Basketball Headquarters in Barcelona and SPORTBIZ BARCELONA event from October 7th to October 10th.
On October 10th each of the 4 finalist startups will present a pitch of the project to the Fan XP jury at SPORTBIZ EUROPE: Barcelona Edition 2024. Awards will be made to the highest performing participants at the sole’s discretion of the Jury, who shall have full discretion in assigning them, including the right of leaving them vacant.
The Organization will have the final decision in all matters related to the selection process of the Fan XP.
In case of a selected startup or project dropping out, the selection committee has the right to choose the next one in line from the candidates list or leave the spot vacant for the Final Stage.
EB may have the right to grant the award to test any of the projects in the environment of its Competitions.
Under no circumstance may the application in the Fan XP, the participation in its Final Stage, and/or being granted with any award entail the automatic right to enter into any commercial agreement with the Organization.
Confidentiality and data protection
The Applicants agree that their submitted documents and data may be forwarded to the Selection Committee and the Jury. In addition, the Organization agrees not to redistribute the submitted projects to third parties without the consent of theapplicants. This applies both to the duration of the Fan XP as well as the period thereafter.
Notwithstanding the above, applicants consent to the publication of the submitted projects admitted to the Fan XP. The Organization commits to only publish general information about the applicant (Company name, country, website) as well as the name of the Project and a short description provided by them in the application form.
All documents and data, if not permission is not explicitly refused, will be included in the databases of the Organization for the purpose of possible subsequent contact. In the event of refusal of permission, the data will be deleted after the Fan XP.
All personal information submitted during the Fan XP will be included in a database property of Euroleague Ventures S.A. and managed by Euroleague Entertainment and Services S.L.U. Such data will be processed by the Organization in accordance with national and international data protection laws including those derived from European General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679.
The data will be used for the purposes of i) managing your participation in the Fan XP and ii) the potential to conclude a collaboration agreement with the startups. In this sense, the data will only be processed so long as it is necessary, useful and relevant for these purposes. Therefore, please be informed that the legal basis for the processing are Applicants’ consent and to take steps prior to entering into a contract.
No automated decisions will be made with Applicants’ data. Only those third parties to whom the Organization is legally obliged, the Selection Committee and the companies entrusted with internal management services and suppliers providing services (if any) will have access to them.
Upon termination of the Fan XP, the personal data will be stored and properly blocked to the only effects of fulfilling the legal or contractual obligations that are of application and during the time strictly necessary for this purpose.
The Applicant may exercise your right of access, rectification or deletion of data, request the processing to be restricted, oppose it or request data portability at any time by sending a written notice to Euroleague Ventures SA, 60 Grand-rue, L-1660 Luxembourg or by sending an email to [email protected], coping [email protected], clearly indicating the right you wish to exercise. In any case, you can file a complaint before the competent data protection authority.
Intellectual property
Applicants warrant and represent to the Organization that all information including any communications, software, photos, text, video, graphics, music, sounds, images, documents, designs, presentations and other material submitted by the Applicant for the Fan XP ("Content") are solely owned by the Applicant or are provided with the express authority of the applicable owner(s) and the use of the Content by the Organization will not infringe upon any other individual or organizational rights (including, without limitation, intellectual and industrial property rights). Applicants shall be completely responsible for handling any infringement or alleged infringement and shall indemnify, defend and hold the Organization or their respective partners, subsidiaries, affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, contractors and agents harmless, from any claims, arising out of or in connection with losses, costs, damages, expenses from infringement or alleged infringement by any Content, or the defense of a claim or any costs payable thereof.
In consideration for participating in the Fan XP, the Intellectual Property Rights (IPR, including but not limited to trademark, copyright, design, patent, etc.) of any Content delivered by the Applicant for the Fan XP and created before, during the call for entries and/or during the course of the Fan XP shall be owned by the Applicants. Applicants hereby grant a non-exclusive, perpetual, royalty-free, worldwide, transferable, irrevocable license to use and display the Content for internal and external uses for marketing, promotional and similar purposes. For the avoidance of doubt, Fan XP shall have the right to modify partially or totally the Content to adapt it to specific marketing needs (i.e. duration of video, color of a presentation, format of a document).
Likewise, any IPR generated in the Final Stage of the Fan XP will be exclusive property of the Applicant.
Applicants agree to hold harmless the Organization for any project developed in the future that may have similarities to the presented project to the extent that there may be any companies on the market offering similar alternatives provided there is no registered patent or utility model registered on behalf of the Applicant.
Advertising and Publicity
The Projects selected for the Final Stage of the Fan XP will be allowed to use the Fan XP logo and to announce its participation in any document or media channel.
By entering into the Fan XP and/or accepting the awards, companies (collectively) and Applicants (individually) waive all copyrights, rights of publicity and any related rights and consents to Organization right to picture, tape, record or portray him/her as a Fan XP participants, and to exhibit this material in any and all media now existing or hereinafter created, including without limitation television, film, internet, radio, print and social media, without any compensation whatsoever for advertising and publicity purposes, except where prohibited by law. The Applicants also consent to the Organization’s right to use Applicants’ names), voices or pictures, or the content of their Entry (collectively, the "Publicity Rights"). The Organization can allow its agencies to exercise/exploit the Publicity Rights in conjunction with the Organization.
Miscellanea
Applicants agree to participate in the Fan XP at their own will and acknowledge that the Organization is not in any way obligated or liable for any loss or costs that the Applicants may suffer or incur, and nothing is payable to the Applicants for participating in the Fan XP. The Organization will manage the participation of the selected projects at the SPORTBIZ EUROPE: Barcelona Edition 2024.
The Organization cannot and shall not be held accountable or liable for any disruptions / stoppages / interruptions or cancellation of the Fan XP. Further, neither the Organization nor its contractors will be held responsible for matters out of their control and for force majeure reasons.
The Organization is not responsible for any malfunction of the applications website or any late, lost, damaged, misdirected, incomplete, illegible, undeliverable, or destroyed Applications due to system errors, failed, incomplete or garbled computer or other telecommunication transmission malfunctions, hardware or software failures of any kind, lost or unavailable network connections, typographical or system/human errors and failures, technical malfunction(s) of any telephone network or lines, cable connections, satellite transmissions, servers or providers, or computer equipment, traffic congestion on the Internet or at the applications website which may limit an Applicant’s ability to participate in the Fan XP.
The Organization reserves the right to, at its sole discretion, withdraw or amend or add to these Terms and Conditions or the rules / format of the Fan XP at any time and does not take responsibility for any loss or damage that any Applicant may suffer as a result of participating or attempting to participate in the Fan XP being withdrawn or the Terms and Conditions or rules / format being amended.
In the event any Applicant (including winning Applicant) is found to be in violation of any rule of the Fan XP or is found to be involved in any form of fraud, misrepresentation, dishonesty, unethical behaviour or alleged infringement until the issue is resolved during the Fan XP, the Organization reserves the right to initiate legal proceedings against such Participant and take any other action in its sole discretion including but not limited to recovering any expenses it may have paid or incurred in relation to that Participant.
All information provided in connection with the Fan XP is provided "as- is" without warranty of any kind. The Fan XP Management makes no representations and disclaims all express, implied, and statutory warranties of any kind to the Applicant and/or any third party including, without limitation, warranties as to accuracy, timelines, completeness, or fitness for any particular purpose.
The selected use or reproduction in any manner whatsoever the Fan XP brand, trademarks or logos to designate or communicate on their Projects without the prior express and written consent from the Organization which may set terms and conditions for such use; and file trademarks, logos and/or corporate names belonging to the Organization and its subsidiaries nor file any trademarks, logos and/or corporate names that would be similar to those belonging to the Organization and its subsidiaries are prohibited and will be subject to legal action.
The Applicant shall hold harmless, defend and indemnify the Organization, and their respective employees, officers, contractors, partners or other persons used by them in relation to this Fan XP against any loss, claim, demands, costs, damages, judgments, expenses or liability (including legal costs) arising out of or in connection with any or all claims or alleged claims, that may be brought against, the Organization, or by any third party in connection with the Participants’ involvement in the Fan XP, winning the Fan XP, awarding or the use or misuse of any award and shall reimburse Organization for any loss, costs, expense, or damage to which said indemnity applies. The Organization shall give the Applicant written notice of any claim or actions covered by this indemnity, and the Applicant shall have the right, at their own expense, to participate in any such action.
The Organization has no obligation to screen an application or any information contained therein in advance, and is not responsible for monitoring applications, to prevent violation of intellectual property ownership rights, or violations of any law, rule or regulation. If the Organization is notified of submissions or materials that allegedly do not conform to these Terms and Conditions, it may investigate the allegation and determine in good faith and in its sole discretion whether to reject an application from the Fan XP. The Organization has no liability or responsibility to Applicants or other users of the Website for performance or non-performance of the Website.
